Call gunwerks. You'll need a different bolt face for sure. Been too long since I've messed with their action to recall how the bolt is configured

I wouldn't trade a 6.5 for a 7mm…if you compare apples to apples, 6.5's win in both energy and wind deflection.

Cheers.
Eh what bullet weights? A heavy 7 will outshoot a 6.5 hence the f class guys ditching the 6.5 284 for the 284 shehane or the 6.5 prc necked up to 7mm. Back in the day the best bc bullets available were in 6.5 so everyone necked the 284 down. Now with the new 7mm's everyone is necking up the 6.5 284 back to 7mm.

Being a big 6.5 fan, have a pile of them, the 7 PRC and 6.5-284 are not on the same level in any category. Pushing a 175 to 3000 in a 24 in a 7 prc is a legit platform for bigger game. I run the 7 mags at 3050 with a 168 and 2950 with a 180 in 26". I actually went away from the 6.5-284 and to the 6.5 PRC for short barrel rigs with suppressors. I think your decision to look into it is solid but you have to decide the value. The 6.5's are very capable. The only issue is whether or not you can swap bolts or open yours up.

What's to follow?
Velocity means nothing, and bullets work at 1300 regardless of what gun rag writers say.

Cheers.
P.S. A PRC platform is SMALL.
Huh???? Those numbers NuclearWorker shared are energy numbers (ft-lbs). Pick a load for each cartridge and the 7PRC will have more energy. Bring some data to the table to speak from and just not your emotions. SMH. 🤦‍♂️
