I’m Making The Switch

Speaking of that...recently an annoying loudmourh crow just stayed on the 50 - 300 yard range. He decided to perch at 50 yards & caw incessantly. A 50 grain Hornady .22-250 made him "just go away"....just a few feathers. Off-topic but agreeing with your "What crow?" 😄
When I was a kid one of my neighbors had a 700 heavy barrel 22-250. He shot a dove at about 200 yards, the only thing left was a few feathers. At that point I knew I'd own a 22-250 one day. LOL

BB has been doing a bit of beta testing for Hodgdon...

I got a Berger 87gn VLD to 3450 FPS from my 243 AI. 7 twist and they held together fine which did somewhat surprise me (355k RPM on a relatively thin jacket). Was 80FPS higher than projected in QL at my projected max so I never pushed it further, but no pressure signs in formed brass.

I ran the ballistics on it and it's almost the same as @ButterBean 55gn - 200 FPS faster at 600 because of the heavier weight, very similar drop, but not a Hammer so wouldn't flip the pedals off. I've had such good results with the HHs I would prefer them over the Berger honestly.

I have 55HHs to eventually try, but this is such a not-hunting rifle I haven't got around to it. I actually bought a Magnetospeed just to be an Acolytle of the ButterBean School of Speed 🤣 85gn HH in 6.5CM is a fricken laser in my AR-10.

OK folks, #2 is ready for load development, 9 twist 300WSM on a 116 magnum action in a HS Precision, Y'all know that I won't stop but when I picked this rifle up from the bench it made me smile and I nodded my head, I have never had a rifle feel as good as this one does and I said to myself "I can stop now " You'll prolly get tired of hearing about it but if it shoots as good as it feels I do believe this is gonna be my favorite, I've fooled with a bunch of rifles but when I get bored I send them down the road so we'll see how this one plays out, A big thanks to the members here that are keeping me supplied in parts
