This was unchambered weight. 3lb 14.5 oz and how I had it set up for my first nrl hunter match

24" straight contour (1.25")
6.5 creedmoor shooting 147 eldm

I went straight contour to mitigate any possibility of stringing. Wishing I went a little lighter profile now but I can't complain the thing shoots stupid good with everything I've put through it
Forgot to say it earlier...but you know you have a setup that's in tune when you are doing a ladder looking for pressure and everything goes into the same hole.

It's been one of the best barrels consistency wise on performs I've shot

I'll be sure to update this thread with my findings either way once the barrel is spun up and I get a chance to do some LD.
Is this project completed? Have you done any load development yet? If so, can you share your load data?
I'm very interested, because I have a X-Caliber barrel in 25 CM sitting on the shelf ready to install on my RPR as soon as the factory 6.5 CM barrel stops shooting well. I bought a couple thousand Berger 135 LRHT bullets and have Reloder 16 on hand.
Anyways I look forward to hearing your results.
Thanks

So I am running low n slow with 140 hornady bthp, 40 grains of h4350 in lapua lrp brass at 2720
My buddy who is borrowing the barrel for a hunter match with his wife is running 42.4 gr of imr 4350, 147eldm in old ruag brass at 2750. He tried five different charge weights at 100yds and the group of all 5 weights was about 1/2". I had to take the barrel to 600yds for load development because i never saw groups over 3/4" at 100yds so I needed to see what did best at a distance. The hornady bthp at 2720 was a sweet spot and I ran it at a nrl hunter match and managed to take 8th with the combo. I tried 4831sc also but the h4350 seemed to produce a little better results at distance

Garett,
Thanks and congrats. This may sound weird, but I'm hoping my factory 6.5 barrel 'craps out' soon, just so I can install the X-Cal 25 CM barrel...lol

Ha not weird at all. Here I am putting a rifle together that hasn't been broken in for a match this weekend because I like to change things too much

Not quite, still waiting on my blank from XCal to come in. Hoping it's in the next week or two. That will put me right on the backend of their quoted 12 week lead time.

Once I have the blank it will get built pretty quick.

Mine shipped a few days earlier than the quoted lead time. Hopefully yours does as well.
I look forward to the update and hearing your thoughts on the 25CM.

Not bad at all! Let us know how it shoots when it comes in. I just pulled my xcal carbon and sent it off to a buddy so he and his wife can shoot the nrl hunter series as a team. I'll let you all know how it goes and his experience shooting 147gr eldm with it
Barrels arriving today. Headed to my GS for chambering(300 PRC) end of the week.

So I'm kinda disappointed (maybe). Barrel shows up exactly 26" long. Bartlein recommends 1/2-1" cut off the breech end. Does X Caliber not recommend this ? If it is required, my new finished length is 25" which is NOT what I wanted in a 300 PRC barrel. If I just mill the breech end to true it up for the action, I'll be ok.

You mght be ok. Per the website "All carbon-fiber contoured blank lengths are how they leave the shop as their intended *FINISHED LENGTH*"
