7mm PRC

Its the 7PRC built on the 300PRC case that I'd be interested in. I really wish Hornady would get it in gear. in my thoughts, it would be to the Nosler as the 7 Practical is to the RUM. Just a tic slower (maybe maybe-not) but with a heap less powder, more barrel life, and so on.

I think if Hornady was to do a factory offering they'd set the shoulder back a bit from the 300 PRC and put it in between the 6.5 and the 300 from a capacity standpoint. Just me speculating but they haven't introduced anything that overbore. The straight neck down from 300 would leave more meat on the bone for reloaders but may not lend itself to good consistency from a factory loaded/mass produced ammo standpoint.

Personally, I'd definitely be interested even if they only slightly edged the 7mag in performance and could run their 180 at 2950ish

Thank you. Thats super interesting.
And I agree Longshot, I would actually prefer a slightly smaller capacity. I just want the sweet-spot for the 195. I thinks the 28 Noz is way way way too inefficient to be in my cabinet. The link above gives promise. Personally I would want to push the 195 somewhere around 3000-3100.

They have said they wanted to roll out the most popular calibers first and then would get to 7s and 338s if demand was high for the bullet

Just saw this thread. I was deciding tonight what dies I have that could be used to set some 300 PRC back and see what it would look like. I think I can use a combination of dies I have to get pretty close, did the math on where the shoulder "should be". I'll find that and post it up if anyone wants to see. And yes, comes in pretty close to the LRM.
