The 7 Prc allows you to use up to 195gr bullets, and they fit nicely in a rem mag size box. The Prc has a 8twt barrel also.
Most 7Rm are 9 to 9.5. Heavier bullet for longer distances works pretty good.
I have both of them, they are both good
Cartridges. I still prefer the 7 Rm, but I am warning up to the Prc. Hope this helps.

There is virtually no ballistic difference between the 7PRC, 7 Rem mag, 7WSM and several other 7mm cartridges that have a similar case capacity. They will all flatten an elk with good shot placement and an appropriate bullet.

If I had a 7mm rem mag or another 7mm cartridge, I wouldn't get a 7prc.

But I don't, so I got a 7mm prc barrel for an old savage. And I've been having a blast shooting 500, 1000yds and even a mile (this summer was the first time I've shot to 1000yds ever in 25 years of shooting. )
