First time poster... Long time lurker
I have a 700 bdl action in 30-06 at my disposal... My goal for it is to build a 800-1000 yard rifle out of it... What I am looking for is suggestions on caliber options, I have been looking at a 6.5-06 or possibly a 25-06 but I am open to all options... I reload and have a boss press so case forming is not a problem... I also do not have an issue with putting a block in the mag to use short action cases... As i have all ready done that with a 22-250 build
Thanks in advance for the help

I would look at the 280 if your looking for something that will fit and function in the 3006 action
with little or no modifications.

With the wide range of bullets in .284 (7mm) it is very versatile and accurate.

Also there is lots of loading data and accessories for the 280 and also factory ammo.

The 280 rem is a winner and would fill your needs for a target and hunting rifle .

Thanks for the replies... 280 was one of the other I was looking at because of the bullet selection... It is going to be for paper punching
