any one playing around with this.i think case capacity is near that of 7mm magnum but it would be for the 06 case head .any thoughts on that.

Pardon me as I'm a little confused (easy for me) in regards to the title, if you're asking about the 6.5 RPM, I haven't used it but have considered it as it is the stretched version of my favorite, the 6.5x284. My thought is that the RPM would maximize a long action using the 6,5mm bullet.
Looking now, I think you're referring to a 6.5RPM necked to 7mm.

So you can get a 7Mag performance from an -06 diameter action. I like it.

Except the RPM case has a good deal more capacity.
I'm guessing that the new Wby rpm case will become the base for a few wildcats, just as the 284 Win has been.

I am convinced reloaders will match 7 Rem Mag performance.
I am hoping it will be Weatherbys next cartridge. I really like the 6.5 RPM and the Backcountry rifles. A 7mag in a 5.5 pound mountain gun would be just what the Dr. ordered.

It is a rebated rim and fat like the 6.5x284 but long like the 280 case.
What do you think of the 6.5 WBY RPM ?
it shoots cleaner cooler quieter longer flatter and faster than the 6.5 grendel 6.5 creedless 264winny and the 6.5 prc. will it catch on bigtime? i just dont know...

yes you are right it is the 6.5 RPM...given its case design and its capacity what would be the projected speeds on bullets in the 150 to 175 grain weights be in your opions?thanks for your imput.i think it would be a hell of a wildcat and no belt or magnum bolt face.
