USPS Messed up AGAIN

Ok I do blame carriers that falsify nobody home and place that in mailbox as I watch them do that. I met with PM and carrier happened to be there. Carrier confirmed falsifying the note. My neighborhood routinely exchanges mail properly and legibly labeled that are delivered to wrong addresses. I don't care who delivers but expect whoever it is to do their job.

Tracking is nice but if NOBODY tracks the package to insure it is transported as addressed, what's the point. I recently had an overnight to Philly stay in their main dist center on a shelf for 3 days past the delivery date. Why? Its a freaking overnight package containing extremely serious sensitive personal financial information which was reason for overnight signature required. Fortunately I sent it from another PO since I didn't trust mine. This PM called the dist center manager and told him to find it while she waited on phone. Found it. Oops, will be sent ASAP. It took a PM out if a very small PO to kick another managers butt to get a HIGH PRIORITY OVERNIGHT mail to be delivered? It was scanned EVERY day on that shelf. This was simply I don't give a 💩 incident prevalent in USPS. This happens far to frequently to be considered an anomaly of a "well run organization".

My USPS route averaged 5/6 days delivery due to local PO failing miserably at route management. I have discussed this repeatedly with PM to no avail. You either have to change people or you change people. The USPS will NEVER run efficiently with standard bureaucracy as the operating model. Its the epitome of a good old boy network. Local PO's are prob on same bowling team after work which results in colossal daytime office management failure.
I worked at one time for one of the largest UPS hubs and if you had too many sort errors you were placed on improvement plan. If you didn't improve you were moved to lesser job. I will bet you this NEVER happens in the USPS hubs!

The bottom line is being carrier is NO different than any other job, just do it. And therein lies the problem, no accountability by anyone in USPS management. No company can function under the USPS model of INEFFICIENCY.

When you are in management, people decisions can either bring success or failure to an organization.

The USPS is a not-for-profit organization. Any profits go back into the group in the form of new equipment, etc.

They receive no funding from taxes. It's all self funded thru revenue generated from the sale of there products (ie stamps, postage, envelopes, shipping costs, etc.)

The sheer volume of mail, packages, and other matter they move in a day is voluminous. It's around 425 millions pieces per day.

I wont send anything bigger than an envelope through the US post office, and if I need to send funds or a payment of some kind I get a cashiers check from my bank not a postal money order. They have lost so much of my stuff it's ridiculous, I'd say over the past year they have cost me around $1200. And they do care in the least.

USPS did it again. We ordered some upgrade parts for our 10/22. The USPS Tracking shows "Delivered to Mailbox". Text and email messaged show delivered along with the order from the seller. Two packages and NOTHING in the mailbox, outside our garage or on the front deck. we have one Postal Person (male) that is really good. He will drive onto our property and deliver the packages to our house. If it is on his day off/weekend and there is a substitute, good luck getting even an envelope. I am sure the packages were delivered to the wrong house, but that can be anywhere on the route.
Now I have to go through the whole process with the seller to replacement or refund. The seller picked the shipping process.
At this point if you want to get your package you need to go UPS. I found FEDX was just as bad if not worse than USPS.
We also did get a fair amount of items from Amazon and they had Amazon Delivery trucks. This past year we have been seeing all our Amazon come through USPS and MISSING packages.

USPS is a waste of our tax money, I loathe them. Don't tell me how they do their job 99% of the time, that is not true. They are paid to put packages and letters in a numbered box and they get to suck off the taxpayers teat whether they do it right or not. It's not a hard job so do not tell me it is. I can tell you some hard jobs and this is not it.

I have complained so much I do not even bother anymore. My neighbor and I on the next street routinely have to bring each others mail since matching an address with a number box is too complicated. Guess what, FedEx and UPS can do it but not USPS. It's to complicated for them. And this has occurred for the last 28 years so it is not just one bad apple.

I even joined a third party program for a few years where I scanned every piece of mail and it tracked their efficiency (if I recall, IBM ran that and fed the data to USPS). I thought for sure all the wrong letters and packages would improve my delivery but it did not. I quit that program since it was as useless as USPS is.

Those idiots delivered a handgun that required a signature to my neighbor on the street behind me. They did not get a signature and could not match the address on the box with the number on my house. You would think that would be required of this job but not for USPS. I complained to the Postmaster and absolutely nothing was done.

USPS needs to be shut down and given to a contractor. They are a waste of tax dollars and the service gets worse over the years. My last delivery guy talked on the phone 100% of the time. He always had his phone and headphones on and he would be talking while dropping letters off in our boxes. I guess he cannot do two things at once since he routinely got our mail mixed up.

Did I already say they are useless?

Agreed here. USPS is 🌈

Less government is what's needed.

Maybe it's time some guy could reverse engineer an old letter drop box, that would bolt down to the concrete near ur home or work. Safe spot for a $2K scope ,if you happen to be out when Postman delivers the mail that day. Have a code on the package and a registration on the drop box. They could just start to accept tips , like Starbuck's for good handoff. They ring the doorbell, wait say a minute, hand ya the package. Put the gold bars rating somewheres on the package, in code, for them. Hey, this baby is a 3 gold bar package, better not leave it on the doostep, then he rings the bell or puts er in the vintage mailbox, if ur not Home. U then hand him a Buck $$ or two, say" Thanks Pus, been waitN for that thing for a week"

USPS does not collect tax payer dollars.

They're funded solely by revenue generated by sales of services, stamps, etc.

I agree, they're a waste of time.

That is a blanket statement and not fully true. Other instances are out there.

First, on April 9, President Joe Biden's administration threw its support behind funneling more tax dollars to fund the agency's new next generation mail delivery fleet.

Second, the Postal Service acknowledged on April 2 that it has accepted $8.64 billion of taxpayer funds to offset some of its losses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both steps seem to reflect the reality that the USPS cannot make it on its own without taxpayer support.

In an April 9 request to Congress, Biden sought $600 million for electric vehicles and charging infrastructure for 18 federal agencies.

I just want 500,000 for my covid relief 😉

What good is a letter box if they go to the wrong address.
Order a Scope through USPS -HAAA that's a joke.
Even USPS with the so called tracking number. They still can't find packages if they are not delivered.
I talked to a USPS worker about a lost package. He told me that if a package isn't delivered properly, the package goes to a storage warehouse. The USPS has hundreds of the warehouses. Once the package is in one of those warehouses to be sorted again for delivery it has about a 90% chance of never being delivered. I then asked what does USPS do with all the packages that are not delivered. He could not answer.
We have had (4) packages with tracking #s and were never found in the last three years. Now this makes #5 & 6!.

I had a LRH Member ship me some bullets. Yesterday I received a TEXT that the package was delivered at my Mail Box. I walked out to the mail and saw a USPS Jeep coming down the road. I thought that there must be two delivery drivers today. When I got to the end ov my driveway the USPS driver (a new person) blew right past me. I looked in my mail box and it was empty. The new driver must have put my package in someone elses box down the road. I called USPS but you can only get the autometed service. Guess I'll never see those bullets unless people that got them brings them to me.
These peole that are hired for the USPS have no work ethic. Many a time I see mail boxes left open, mail on the road, packages damaged or not delivered. Sometime they don't even stop, just roll by the box, open it, throw the mail and not even close the box.
I try to do all my shipping through UPS, but a small Flat Rate package is easy to drop off at the local PO and six miles instead of eleven to the UPS Store.
Anything that is Goverment Run S**ks!
I'm gonna have to stick up for some USPS workers yes some don't care bout thier job but thierr still are some that take pride in what they do my wife has been a carrier for 14 years this would've never happened on her route but you do get the new carrier that really just hasn't gotten it yet or really don't care but I do have to say the USPS is way better then fed x I sure hope your Nieghbors will get it to the rite place

Scopes sent thru the mail, happens all the time. If ya only lost a package or 2 a year, that's not too bad. There's quite a few bad guys out there working against USPS taking stuff, that's not the mailman"s fault. Give them a break, holy smokes! What ya get 10 things a week delivered that"s 500 a year God forbid 1 got lost!! Ya had a few redirected, that still goes in the win column, you're over 500 to 1

After doing some research, it appears they (USPS) have gotten some taxpayer dollars.
