Bertram and adg brass

I have the opposite experience of rfurman24. ADG is tougher and far better than Bertram on consistency. I necked up 28 Nosler to 30 cal and ran it against Nosler and ADG that I made from 300 rum. Bertram showed more pressure signs than any. Nosler primer pockets gave out first. I have shot ADG in 7 saum and 338 Edge often. My 338 edge brass runs 2820 with 300 grain Bergers and am on 7th firing with pockets still good.

They tell me it was early release brass. I have some of the earliest released for the 300WM and CM. I will test in the new cartridges. I hope to see what you are.

Based on what information? You would need to know the SD in weight over 500 cases which i seriously doubt you have. Based on my measurements of 50 cases I would say roughly 1/2-1/3 will be within acceptable weight variance.

good to hear that is next up for me...bbl in the lathe right now.

I haven't used ADG but recently tried out some Bertram brass, and also hit pressure signs early. Couldn't get the same velocity I got with Norma brass.
Neck thickness was all over the place, varying by .005.
Case capacity varied by almost two grains in the cases I measured !
Flash holes were the most jagged I've ever seen.
I would not recommend Bertram

based on the 200 pcs of krap i bought new from bb.
i could not get 50 pc lots.
your standards may not be the same..i sold it at a big loss, but better than wasting powder and bullets.
adg is hands down better

What are your standards? I have tested es and sd with 300 wm and 30 nosler cases and you can see zero difference with 3 grains variance. So if you have more stringent "standards" than that you are wasting time. I can get roughly 20 cases within that out of 50 with both the 300WM and 30 Nosler so the answer is most likely a yes to his question. If you are going to make big statements like that you better have some data to back it up.

if you were using the first runs of 300 win mag it was junk. the newer runs are much better. I did test both runs

your basis is
one lot of 50 cases,
mine is
one lot of 200 cases
pure krap
its his money let him decide.
if it is so good why did the price drop from over 2.50 per case,, to under 1.50 per case ?

What case? What does pressure early mean? You need to give more information when making statements like that. Some Bertram cases have more capacity than a like case from another manufacturer some have less and pressure will be different based on powder charge or velocity. The best brass I have ever had my hands on had 2-3 grains variance in magnum sized cases so 2 grains is very good. .005 neck variance on the other hand is not.

I gave numbers you just say crap. You might be right but you can not be taken seriously without hard data. "Crap" is an opinion. Numbers tell the story. You are correct it is his money. I can only preset data for him to decide but you will not be seeing me use only words like great or crap.

I gotta agree with others, I wont be buying Bertram. It was some of the most inconsistent brass I had ever ran across, weight and neck thickness.

From a recent batch of ADG 6CM, I drew a sample of ten cases. Their weight had an ES of 0.9 grains and SD of 0.37 grains (170.4 grain average weight).

I took two measurements from each neck, both the maximum thickness I could find and the minimum (so 20 total measurements). The ES of thickness for all 20 observations was 0.0009" and the SD was 0.00036".

I haven't tried Bertram.
