I gathered all the parts for my new build. I hope to start working on it in march.
I decided I no longer love the .308 win for long range hunting/shooting. It´s a nice round, but I´ve seen better. So I sold my .308 to start this:
It´s a 6.5 Creedmoor
Stiller Tac 30 Action
Manners T4 stock
Bartlein medium palma barrel (will finish @26").
M5 10rd DBM
jewel trigger
Vortex/seekins rings
Vortex Razon HD Gen I 5-20X50

I posted 2 pics of my 308.

You are gonna LUV that 5R Bartlein. Best of luck on your build.

I'm using the same setup on my 338 EDGE except for the dbm. It should be out of the shop next wednesday. I stuck with a 30" bartlein on that one just to squeeze every bit of MV out of it.

Have You looked at the 6.5-280 Ackley Improved. 73 grains water. Neck down a 280 AI case from nosler & load

Sounds great! I am a fan of Bartlein barrels myself.....and Stiller......and jewel....and Vortex. Crap, you might be building my rifle.:D

Finally it came out!!! I´m going to the range tomorrow to test the first loads.
Now they are triplets. 6.5CM, 7mm RM and .338 EDGE almost same configuration.

Lot 1:
Hornady A-Max 100gr
H4350 44gr
CCI 250 Primer
Hornady Case

Lot 2:
Berger Hybrid Target 140gr
H4350 39.5gr
CCI250 Primer
Hornady Case

I´ll pick up some RL 17 tomorrow to make some tests with that one.
Does anyone know if RL-17 is also not sensitive to temp??

I just tried it yesterday and looks promising. I tried 2 loads and both gave decent results. I´ll put some more powder there to see what happens. Have no idea what the MV is since my magneto isn´t here yet but here are some pics.

First is a 5 Shot Group of using the following:
Hornady A-Max 100gr
CCI250
H4350 44gr
2.207" to Ogive.
Groups looks nice, but it looks like I pulled one a little to the right.

I might want to seat this bullets a little deeper since they barely get in te case neck at this length. Maybe It´ll improve accuracy even with a longer jump.

Second is a 3 shot group (ran out of ammo) of the following:
Berger hybrid 140gr
H4350 39.5gr
2.230" to Ogive
CCI 250

One shot hit a little low but could´ve been me.

I just found an amazing load for this baby. I just can´t believe the accuracy this load is capable of!!!
This is a 3 shot group.

Brass: Hornady
Bullet: Hornady SST 123gr
Powder: RL-17 44.5gr
Primer: CCI 200
BTOL: 2.186"
MV: 3110fps
SD: 5

I fired 3 shots at a 100m target, then installed the magneto speed and fired the 2 remaining rounds I had at another target.
I need to run more shots over the Magneto to get a more accurate MV average and SD. 2 Shots are not significant, but that´s what I had at the moment.
