7mm bullet, good velocity, smooth recoil, standard bolt face, with good barrel and brass life.

That's an easy one. Your perfect round would be... .280 Ackley Improved.

Either a 6.5-06 AI or 280 AI. Id go with the 6.5-06 just because im a huge 6.5 fan. Im a 7mm fan as well just not as big on the 7mm as i am on the 6.5.

My next "project" will be turn my abolt 25-06 into a 25-06ai. If you are want something for just deer, a 25-06 is pretty hard on them. It seems like the effects of gravity triple when the trigger is pulled. But there are a whole list of standard bolt face cartridges out there that do very well also. There Shermans are pretty tough though.

I love my Sendero SF .25-06 AI. One of my favorite guns I own. I never thought I'd like it better than my .257 Wby, but it has virtuslly the same ballistics with better efficiency.

Thanks for the replys if i had more time and money id have every one of em done but my years are dwindlin down ive always had a hankerin to own a 280ai the only 6.5 i ever had was a 264 wm it would reach some but at that time i did not roll my own so the avalible ammo was limited and put a nice little hole in one side and splattered the other side all over the country i realize bullet selection is key im new to bergers and thats what i want to play with my friends in the west love them ... Im going to research that 6.5 it sounds interesting thanks

hello again and thanks for the feedback my new rifle is almost done i went with the 280 ackley barrels a bartlein 26 inch im using it for hunting its on a browning x bolt chassis in ss my next thing is i would like to get some brass i dont have to fireform ive heard the nosler stuff is hard and doesnt last ive never used any myself .... does lapua or norma make any?? im tempted to give the nosler stuff a go -------------im looking at trying some 168 bergers for my first go round what do you all think??? thanks

I've used tons of Nosler brass, and it's one of the best, right up there with Lapua and Norma. So, I'd say give the Nosler 280 AI brass a shot. If it does good, I'd order more and stock-pile it.
