Anyone using this little bitty cartridge for coyotes or groundhogs or..???...or..??

Are you having any success and what sort of loads you loading up? The little thing is cuter than a bugs ear and Ive got a custom coming chambered for it...just wondering what all I can use it for besides LONG range paper punching.

I load mine up with 105 Bergers and they work great on anything you want to shoot up to and including deer. I have mine loaded with 31g of Varget and it pushes the Berger right at 3000fps. Its so accurate that if you have time you can make head shots all day long. Good luck with yours and i think you will love it on and off of paper.

Mine is loaded with 107 SMK's. It is my wifes favorite antelope rifle. I have taken a yote at 651 yards and lots of gophers too.

Ive got some 105 Hornadys here. So should I stick with bullets that large or ?? When I go to the 6BR website they have tables full of loads with mucho lighter slugs....60-70-85 grainers..??

Thats a pretty stout load isnt it? If I remember right Hodgdon says something like 29gr is max for slugs that weight..??

Hmmm?? Varget is my preferred powder for the 243 and the 22-250 and have also used it in my 260. Guess I'll just have to work up to "about" 30 grains "or so"
Speed isnt the most important thing to me or else Id have had a 243AI built instead

Then the smallest bullet I would use is the 87 gr V-Max's. And those are only for the "Splat" factor and air time on small varmints. I really like the 107 SMK's and they are only about $26 / 100 My Kreiger 4 land tube likes them and they shoot good to 1000. That is as far as I remember shooting it.

Here is a pic of a couple gophers taken with 107's @ about 2775 fps. Gophers are pretty small, prairie dogs blow up better..

yes 31 grains in MY rifle has no pressure signs. It also has a 31" straight cylinder on it so that will help in the speed department as well. I am putting another one together right now on a 30" Savage Bull contour barrel. Its a little lighter to carry around.

Mine is carrying a 26" Varmint taper. Even at that length they get tough to carry far
