I am loading for my AR-15s i have 18 of them ! I am tring to load one load to fit all of them best !

Hornady 62 gr BTHP,,,,
I have had a bugger of a time getting this bullet to shoot well , seeing how i like itty bitty groups. It ain't gunna happen with this bullet,,,, i have already tried four different powders and have decided that AA-2000 and Ramshot Tac are the best powders for it,,,, so far 2200 has the best a small edge over the Ramshot Tac but the 2200 is very dirty and N0 i dont want to change primers to make it burn cleaner !

The Ramshot Tack is much cleaner but wont group as well by just a little bit. So I took out three of my better shooting carbines and ran 23 gr 24 gr and 25 grain of Ramshot Tac,,, one rifle shot 23 gr best and two rifles shot 24 grains best and all hated 25 grains !

My question is this : with out going back out to the range,,,,, should i just run with 24 gr of Ramshot Tac or should just split the difference and go with a load of 23.5 grains of Ramshot Tac ?

Please guys all i want is your Vote for,,,,, 23.5 gr or 24 gr of Ramshot Tac .

I think you've pretty well decided. It is difficult to get one load to bug hole across a plurality of rifles. If you have something that works better than 2 MOA across all of them I would say you are pretty well there. YMMV.
I have a few AR-15's in various lengths and twists. I load my match ammo for one that I occasionally stretch to 800 and just shoot mil-surp ball ammo in the others. My three gun 'match' rifle shoots mil-surp ball ammo a little less than 2" and the 75g BTHP ammo I load for it 0.7MOA. If I'm shooting a match that is only planning to shoot 300 and in I usually just shoot the cheap mil-surp ball ammo.
Good luck, have fun!

I did finally go back out and shoot two of my high end rifles a 20" WOA and and my Bold Ideas/Colt Competition 16 " both shot 5/8 inch 5 shot groups @100+yards with the Tac 23.5 gr,,,, 62gr BTHP

Like TRNelson said, that's a near-impossible task...And a very improbable one.

Most accurate and consistent ammo I have ever shot in all of my 5.56 AR's is Federal Lake City XM193 and XM855.

I have all the stuff to reload for 5.56, but I don't do it because LC ammo has come down so much that it's just not worth the effort on my single-stage press. Plus, I save all the brass, and either reuse them for 5.56 or cut them down and make my own .300 BLK cases. Once I finally get a progressive for reloading my AR's and revolvers, then I'll start loading for them, but until then, I'll just keep feeding them XM193 (and saving the brass), and shooting cheap steel-cased Wolf and Tula for plinking.

We are about opposite i almost never shoot factory ammo , did buy some 855 penetrator rounds, loved blowing up lava rock and ice with that stuff although it wasn't up to acceptable accuracy for myself ...

Ya its a beoch trying to get 18 ARs to shoot one load well my loading of Hornady 55 fmj and aa 2200 is ok in all them so far,,,, But overall my loading of aa2200 and 50 Zmax usually will shoot even better,,, so i have loaded up 3000 rounds of 50 Zmax for competition carbine class and 5000 Hornady 55 fmj rounds for practice and if SHTF !

And now i have 3000 rounds Hornady 62 BTHPs to load up with Tac powder but im out of brass ! :(

The only guns I don't reload for, are my 5.56 AR's, and my semi-auto pistols. Everything else, I reload.
I load 30-06, 25-06, .223/5.56, 30 carbine, 9mm, and 45acp, the only thing i dont reload is 22 rimfire but i hear there is a way to do that now days also !
.223 keeps me really busy even with a progressive press .

I bought those 3 thousand Hornady 62gr. BTHPs with the hopes of extending my ARs ranges on prairie dogs but i gotta tell you i'm not so sure its gonna happen, gotta see what they will do 600 yards !

Let's see, I'll start down the line from smallest to largest of what I reload for...

Rifles...

5.56 NATO, .25-06 Ackley, .257 Weatherby, 6.5 Grendel, .270 Win, 7mm-08 Rem, 7mm RemMag, 7mm STW, .300 AAC Blackout, .30-30 Winchester, .308 Win, .30-06 Ackley, .300 WinMag, .300 Weatherby, .300 Ackley, .444 Marlin, and .45-70 Gov't.

Handguns...

.357 Magnum & .44 Magnum.

600 yards for dogs, I suggest building you a .25-06 Ackley 40º... Laserbeam, with 115 Bergers, you got more than enough energy to reach out there and handle some business.
