I'm researching for my next rifle, want a long range varmint. I have a 6.5 Creed already. narrowed down to 6mm Creed, .22-250 (fast twist) .224 Valkyrie.

who like what and why?

I will look at the Dallas safari Club Convention next month, then wait for SHOT rumors, see what might be coming

I've given up on JP Sauer shipping their model 100 Pantera in 6.5 PRC

All good choices but I'd replace that 22-250 with a 22 Creed.

I have a fast twist 22-250AI which is an awesome round, the creed is with it step for step. Had it been around when I built mine that's likely the route I would have taken.

Do you have a particular barrel/action combination in mind? What is your budget looking like?

Yep, sorry, budget is important. I'm looking in the $1000-$1500 range, so staying "factory" Looking at the Bergara Pro Series, Browning XBolt Hells Canyon LR . Wilson Combat Super Sniper in .224, . Cant afford another $5100 custom. Still have to fund 2019 hunts.
Gun needs to shoot well under 1MOA, I will probably reload but the factory ammo these days, we'll see as I'm not crazy about spending hours reloading.

I have a very nice semi custom .223, 1-9 twist now.

I may have to sell a current rifle to help fund this purchase.
