Interested in hearing from others that reload the copper rose bullets, I don't see much in the way of reload data with the cr bullets--- hh, ahh, hht have lots or reload data listed to sift through if they are similar

Are you loading like charges to other monos (like hammer, etc)?

Are you using similar powders?

Are you seeing similar speeds and pressure signs at like charges/velocities?

How close to lands should I run them? I usually start at mag length then work back if needed

I have a good load for 7rm with the 143/145 hh/t bullets but I can't leave well enough alone and bought some cr/sf bullets to try

Just trying to gather data points so I can have a basis of knowledge to play with the cr bullets

On a side note, I hear apex may be coming out with heavier bullets ( like around 135gr for std twist 7mm) and I will probably try those too- when they do it would be nice to see another thread on the afterburner bullets too

I've gotten the 117gr McGuire .257 bullets, barely even tested for pressure.
Need some time and some October temps.
Even got a +.080" FB reamer for them, and sent a barrel off today with it.

Gday Cohunt
Overall McGuire are easy to load for with a no fuss system
& it's the the same process I use with a lot of the monos these days
Also noting a faster powder than what I used to go too has shown better results

Velocity wise these guys are pretty slippery just like hammer & apex & one that loads may end up a touch more or touch less than them

Not used the 7mm in mcquire as my twist was wrong for what he produces , so no actual comments on that particular pill on terminals but I like the way sam is approaching the terminals & one of the better companies for understanding this
& cares which is absolutely a very important part of terminal consistency

Apex I doubt I'll test his upcoming stage 3 , 7mm ones as in the dilemma of deciding if the 7-08 gets trimmed from my collection like others that have recently gone that way as I wind down from testing but the stage 3 apex is one that covers some serious bases & also mark also understands very well & cares

Please
Keep us updated on your progress
Cheers

I bought a box of the cr sf 143's --- I'm going to try them with my rl23 load that i use on the hh/hht and see how they do.

cohunt,I got a notice today you might be interested in since you use Re 23
Thank you, I'm trying to hold off, I was down to just over a pound- then was able to pick up 4 more from brunos a few weeks back---im not sure if I should nab a jug or wait to see if the price goes back down at all--- if i grab a jug from midway after taxes and shipping its 90/pound --- i use it in a few rifles but I'm not shooting a whole lot right now. I wish I could have gotten a jug rather then just 4 then I'd be mentally set for a while

But if it goes up more ill be kicking myself that I didn't buy one.

what to do- what to do
