I just ordered a remington 5r in 300 win mag with a 26" barrel. I plan to hunt and shoot long range with it. What factory ammo would you recommend I shoot in it for both?

Thanks.

Every gun is different for what it will shoot, but try any PREMIUM factory ammo such as Winchester, Hornady or Federal. Also, I like the 180 plus grain bullet weights for the 300.

For a side note, consider doing this gun justice by eventually reloading your ammo. These guns are historically very accurate out of the box with the correct load.

I plan on hand loading for it after this season. I will start hunting in a week and just don't have time to do the load testing right now.

for deer in AL any 165 grain sp bt . I would use a 168 CBT, not sure if that is available in factory . a 165 ballistic tip I am sure is.
