I did a bunch of lowers, and changed all the triggers and springs in every lower I have, just never attempted an upper. Something for next year! It's pretty easy to assemble a upper. Actually, very easy and rewarding as well.

I was born in that part of PA. which is famous for the expression: "too soon we grow old and too late smart." worth remembering.I had a Model 700 BDL from the Remington Custom Shop in 7mm-08 AI. 24" barrel with a Zeiss scope. Best shooting hunting rifle I have ever owned. I was fire forming brass one day and someone had left some playing cards on the 200 yard boards. I remember hitting diamonds on every shot. I can kick myself for letting that rifle go. We live and we learn.
Sockeye66,I'm with you with regard to Creedmoor, mine is 6mm Creedmoor and my 6.5x284 I would not be without its long range accuracy is formidable.I have 2 7-08s and 3 6.5 CMs, they are 2 of my favorite 3 cartridges (6.5x284 the other), if their is an advantage to either it would be the heavier bullet option for the 7-08 but that also comes with more recoil. In the 140gr class, the 6.5 CM is a tough to beat combination of light recoil, high retained down range energy/speed, and sectional density. I love both cartridges and I'm not trying to sound like a 6.5 CM band wagoner. Both are great deer cartridges.
I think you are the only one getting touchy feely, emotional over this thread. Just a point of order. Are we still b*tching and moaning about the Creedmoor? Show us where the new cartridge touched you and you feel offended. This gets so stupid.
I have two 7mm-08s, two 6.5mm Creedmoors, and two 6mm Creedmoors. They are all awesome. Why the heck do people get all whiney over Creedmoors. It is just a freaking cartridge. Get over it. It is a container that holds powder and a bullet. Do you get all weepy when someone uses a different size Tupperware to carry their leftovers in too?
Is the 7mm-08 the adult version of the 6.5 creed millennial offering?
Ya got me. However, I was more referencing state of mind.Technically, all millennials are adults at this point...
And I doubt many animals can tell the a. 020 inch difference between bullets similar weights

If you don't mind sharing what scope does He run?I just bought a tikka super light in 7mm-08 trying to keep it lightweight for a Mtn rifle 7.5 lbs is awesome!
