Back in the 80s my 788 Carbine in 7-08 accounted for a couple or 3 dozens of WTs with 120 GK flat base bullets. Outdated bullets in comparison to today's offerings, punch those 120s fast enough with 4320 they kill just as well

Do you gain much velocity going to a 24" barrel vs the standard 22" barrel in 7mm-08?
Thanks

You definitely are not an oddball! I'm in my late sixties and the 7-08 has been my choice whitetail cartridge for quite a few years and IMR 4350 has been with me since. Maybe not the fastest and temp stable, but I'm always able to produce steady .5-.75 moa consistently with 140gr bullets shooting an off the shelf XBolt bedded and replaced spring in the rock, oops I meant trigger. With the lighter projectiles, Varget is my choice. There are more than a few powders that work well with shooters, but most will agree they are impressed with the efficiency of the '08 in its window.Seems like I'm a oddball still using IMR 4350 and W760. I've got plenty and has worked well for me.
Dont worry brother...my ex told me size don't matter... then again, she did leave me , lolI'm started to feel insecure since my 7mm-08 barrel is only 14". May have to turn in my man card.
No, I went from a 26" to a 23" barrel on my 308. Shooting 168s, I lost 60 fps.Do you gain much velocity going to a 24" barrel vs the standard 22" barrel in 7mm-08?
