i was given dies, 120 cases to reload from my brother all he said he wants to shoot out to 6 houndred yards for elk the bullets i've decided on are the 210 or 225 gr barnes ttsx , nosler 200 or 225 accu or posssibly the hornady cx or eld-x are all these good or which one would you use thanks

Another bullet you may want to look at is a 265 gr long range accubond, I have not hunted with it yet, but in my rifle it is the most accurate bullet/load, repetitive ragged 3 shot hole at 100 yards, load not fully developed yet, (need a new chronograph). But out of your choices the either the 225 gr Barnes or 225 gr accubond, would be my preference, leaning towards the Barnes.

Provided you keep the ranges at which you will have adequate expansion…..hands down a mono. My choices would be the Barnes or the Hammer's.

We're running 225 grain TTSX's in my wife's .338 WM which easily gives you decent expansion velocities 2200+ fps) @ 600 yards. She's used them for years with very good success…..though her longest shots have been at or around 400 yards!

The caveat……finding some to purchase! My go to place is Blue Collar Reloading, where I just got 4 boxes of Barnes .375, 270 grain LRX's for my birthday/Christmas. Presently they don't have any .338 210 or 225 TTSX's……but, keep them on your radar! memtb

This is what was left of a 225gr accubond that I found in my bull moose I got a couple year's ago. It was a 80 yard frontal shot. Drt. I'm sure a mono in the same weight would do great as well. Go with what shots the best.

I've been an Accubond guy for many years- deer, moose, eland, 800# kudu, elk- in many calibers. Did deer out to 550 with my 6.5/.284 XP-100. Good damage. 98% one shot kills.

I've been using the Barnes 210s for a while but the TTSXs seem to start to keyhole at 400+yds. The regular TSX seems ok! I've killed several bulls with these with no need for a second shot! One was hit on the run at about 200-250 yds. angling away. The bullet hit just in front of the on side hind quarter angled through the vitals and made a 1/2 dollar size hole out the off side neck- shoulder! I'd like to try the 225gr. Nosler Accubonds but they've become as scares as an honest politician! I've just started using the new Hornady 225gr. CX and so far good accuracy but they are so long the velocity is somewhat limited I'm getting about 2800fps with 70grs, of RL16

Sure, there are better bullets, but I have never lost an animal using Accubonds, and that includes those in 25, 26, 27, 28, 30, 33 and 375.
They are the first bullets I try with new rifles and those I used to build.
They're not difficult to find a good load for like the ABLR can be.

Had failures with other certain brand bullets. I see good things with Hammer bullets but have never used them.

I too love the Accubond bullets but they are hard to get right now! I've used the 140gr. in ,277, 140 and 160gr. in .284, 150gr. in .308, and 260gr. in .375 cal. I don't believe I've ever had to take a second shot on game!

Accubond 225, Best performance on all game better than a 210 ballistics, you sight in 1.5 in high at 100 yards, a 225 drops to about 3 in low, vs a 210 which is approximately 7 inches at 300 yards. Absolutely one of the best cartridges on big game inside 500 yards. Hits like Thors Hammer. One rifle I will never sell. Good luck, happy boom sticking.

225gr accbonds and IMR 4350 if you have any. That's what ended up working the best for me.

250 grain Accubonds shoot best in my .338 WM. Too bad I can't seem to find any.

I loaded 225 and 250 NABs but settled for the 225 over the 250 in my .338 WM with H4831SC.
