338 Lapua ???

Yes sir, I realize how unusual this is. I've discussed this with a few of the authorities out there and all have said that I have something special going on here. I believe that 2900 to 2950 wouldn't be too far out of the norm. I understand that bartlien barrel's are considered to be one of the faster barrels out there however I don't quite think that that is the full answer. I can only guess that pushing the bullet so deeply into the case must have the most to do with it, OAL to the lands with my chamber is 3.820 And I'm shooting just off the lands.

From the data I have seen, nothing beats the .338/.378 Weatherby. I built one in the 1980s.
Well the improved version of the 338 Lapua would be pretty much a dead heat with it.
While it is a good choice, it for sure isnt the best choice as for velocity.
Lots of things have happened since the 80s.
As much as i hate to admit it. lol

Also with better brass for the Lapua.
