1st Custom long range rifle - 6.5 SAUM

Beautiful rig. I just got a gap 6.5 Saum two months ago on the tempest action, full gap build. They get down for sure. I am running 140 hybrids with h1000 and Bertram brass. Just got done with first round of load work and I am very happy so far!

What brass are yo using? I went with the ADG. I have H1000 powder and 142gr Accubond LR. I hope these bullets fly well, becuase they are what I want to shoot. I have take a bunch of white tail, a few pronghorn, and a couple elk with Accubonds and I really like them. I am am only a couple years behind you, less than 3 to go until retirement.

The 142 LRAB will work on elk, my friends shot two bulls last year with 6.5x284's and the 142.

Don't be afraid to try the 139 Scenar. It might not have as high BC but it's extremely consistent and kills antelope, deer and elk dead!

Thanks. I will def look at that bullet. I have a bunch of 140gr Berger VLDs also.

Bullet wise I have used the 130VLD and now the 140 Elite Hunter hybrid. Like both very much in my 24in 8.7tw barrel. The 140 @ 3,080fps groups well. Limited experience on game so far. 1 Antelope @ 518 yds was a marginal hit (low), and the Berger still put it down with a pass through. Two hogs much closer (75 yds) and was impressed the bullets did not blow up, pass through with good damage in between. Good luck hunting !
