195 EOL or 215 Hybrid

I have a 28 Nosler pushing the 195 @ 3099fps. It is currently my long range elk rifle. It is a crusher! It takes a lot of speed for even a 230 .308 Hyb to outrun the 195s.

And yet, I am building a bigger 30 next year. I am leaning hard towards a .300WM "RM". I had picked up 1200 of the 200.20x Hybs in anticipation. Then, finally, the 215s were released again, so I grabbed 2k for the new build.

I think if you want to keep 1800fps and 1500ft/lbs, the 28 w. 195s will outrun a .300WM w. 215s. You would need to step way up in case size to push a 230 Hyb or 245 EOL fast enough to keep up. Like a .300RUM or .300NMI. At added recoil as well.

Where did you get the 215 bergers? I have been waiting forever.

So I had a discussion with a buddy the other day and the wheels been turning ever since.

He was talking about his buddies rifle (Piercision 30-28 Nosler) and it's abilities. I started looking into 28 Nosler vs 30-28 Nosler vs 300 WM (which I own).
I am now very tempted to make a change. My rifle is a Christensen ELR 300 WM with McMillian stock, 26" 1-10.
I'm tempted to either rebarrel or sell. Leaning towards selling and starting with a Kelby action.
Would you put a rig together specifically to shoot the .284 195gr EOL or a .308 to shoot 215's or 245 EOL?
I'd like to hear some discussions on this.

Ps. This would not be a high volume rifle so not a concern about barrel life. Plinking/Elk
I've been very pleased with the 195s the last few years. It's done very well for me on elk and bear. Seems like the only times I bring out the 30cals anymore is when I say "i have shot this in a while" and want to use them just because. Its probably more of a way to justify keeping them than anything else. Yeah the 30s give more bullet options but if a 195gr won't do the job. A 200gr or 205gr or 215gr out of a WM or similar cartridge in the same place won't do it either. You get the same results without the extra recoil from the heavier 30s. Anytime I feel like I need more than when a 195gr in the 28N will do, I step up to the 338. BUT! That being said if you already have a 30cal that's a shooter there's really no reason to go to a 28N unless you just want something different. When it gets down to it you're splitting hairs when it's comes to advantages of one over the other and its strictly turns into preference. I settled on the 28N because it was a good mesh between what I was looking for in a cartridge for what I use it for. Like I said if feel i need more I got up to the 338.

Sounds like you guys have some cool toys out there, But I can't get the speeds ya'll do , my 6.5x284 with a 140gr VLD Hunting bullet gets me 2940 fps I have never shot a deer less than 420yds with it and my best is 890, and never shot one more than once, either a hit or a miss but one shot only. My 300 win mag I use the 215gr Berger and being a new gun I have shot 5 Nilgai with it one time with out any follow up shots, the longest being 510yds. The speed is only 2820 fps on it, kinda has me concerned a bit sense not one of these bullets has made an exit hole. I know I have been lucky with the most any has run was maybe 30 yds. any ideas ?

Berger bullet does not need an exit wound to be effective.
