Still have a what's left of a box of Cor lok from 12 years ago. Patterned like a 12ga. Checked them for run out and they sucked.
They worked when I was young. Quality control went to hell I guess.
Eldx have grenaded and seperated on me too, they killed though, eventually.

Ballistic tips are definitely accurate and a great deer bullet as long as you stay off that shoulder. They aren't designed for shoulder shooting just like other c&c.

I've had Ballistic Tips punch through both shoulders with 30 cal, 7mm, and 25 cal.
In the almost 40 years hunting, i've never recovered a Ballistic Tip.
The only bullets i've recovered any part of is the jacket from the Berger VLDs under the offside hide.
And i've punched a VLD through one shoulder. Not recommended, but it worked.
I've also learned to not shoot the shoulders if i can help it.

I don't know what you have been shooting. Either my bullets have gone through or stop on the other side at the hide. I have put bullets from one end to the other. Deer, elk, and Africa game. Most were one shot kills to boot. That's not one or two animals either. I do push them in the 3000+fps velocity range in any rifle I shoot. It maybe you are using a slow boat to china rifle.

Ive discussed this with him in the past…I suspect he got burned by the first gen b-tips which truly were more like varmint bullets and has refused to try them again. Which I can't blame.
The 30 cal 180 b tip is a stout bullet, much more than some realize.

Such as my early experiences with 300 grain Sierra SPBT's back in the early '80's. I swore to never buy another Sierra bullet….and have to date remained true to my word.
However, the total BS responses from the Sierra folks in a phone call contributed greatly to my hatred of anything Sierra!
In a later conversation with Craig Boddington, he told me the later production 300's where much improved. Didn't matter, I had discovered (with help from Bob Millek) the Hornady 270 grain Interlock SP's….no desire to try the Sierra's again! memtb

Likewise with partition bullets. Used only once, and never return. At one time with the partition they recommented to stay below 2900fps. In my 308NM I use 165gr Accubonds, and my 338WM I use 200gr Accubonds. Driving them at 3300 and 3230 fps respectfully. In my 25/06 I use the 120gr Nosler. bt lead tip. I am just about of them too.

I had great results from Nosler Ballistic Tips on whitetails back in the late 80's-early 90's. Switched over to them from Sierra GameKings which had also worked very well for me.
The Ballistic Tip was introduced in 1984 and was the first polymer tipped bullet that I remember ever seeing. They caught on quick with the whitetail hunters I knew. We eventually heard of some issues with non penetrating blow ups, but word was that all happened early on when Nosler admitted to releasing the bullet before thoroughly testing them. They supposedly went back and reconstructed the bullet a bit tougher. I dunno how true that all is but we liked them a lot. I moved to the Hornady SST from there, and I always felt like the SST was a tad tougher than the Ballistic Tip.

Any Berger at close range if hunting. Second choice would be the Hornady GMX's. I was never able to get any of them to give me reasonable accuracy.
Not necessarily disappointing, but years ago had a Sako 6 ppc that would shoot Fowler 66gr match in a ragged hole - but those were like FMJ on varmints. Just punch a 6mm hole in things. To compound things, it wouldn't shoot Blitz's, VMax or others better than .750".
