Hammer Bullets and Hyper Velocity, The Misconception

before i reply to that , do you not wish the same thing as me
Yep, a work in progress. When the rules are different it takes time. I'm just glad we get to use them and share our experiences on a forum like this while that is all happening. We are part of the R&D team. Call it a privilege. Glass half full vs half empty kind of a deal. ;)

i promise , for this community, that ill buy a copy for the first 10 hammer customers as soon as its off the press , and a copy for the next 20 after that if it has an expansion velocity graph in the data, as long as the price is comparable to the industry

Why are you back to whining about Hammer load data again? I thought we straightened this out months ago.

Velocity ranges isn't pertinent, more than zero? Isn't velocity included in your thread title?
Dusty isn't here to talk about velocity at all and he isn't looking to contribute to the information, Dusty just doesn't like seeing Hammer bullet threads in the reloading section so he's just in here being a troll. Look at his comments below from another thread.

this site promotes the hammers in EXCESS . i know ya all trying to help a buddy out , which is cool

but, kinda like inhaling while skydiving .. like drinking from a garden hose on full blast .. or your mom making ya eat your peas as a kid ..

the excessive push around this forum makes me actually appreciate seeing anything on the other side of the coin for a change ( is that good for marketing ?) i

you know how you kinda start liking peas when you arent told ya gotta eat em

what percentage of 300wm are a 10 .. are ther gonna be any not so avid shooters ending with these same results

right .... when was the last time the "absolute hammer load data " thread was not on the first page of the reloading section ... its been bumped to the top for 72 pages ... thats not promotion ??? why not just make a sticky

anything negative about hammer will be buried in 20 min , so deep nobody will read it anyways ... and thats , not promotion ???

i bet either one of 2 thing happens with this excessive promotion -- either this tread will be intentionally be overrun with all the happy users to dilute any negativity towards them or other threads will be replied to just to push it back a few pages

i am not upset one bit, like i said a little relieved to see a different side of the coin ..

i feel they are a premium bullet with some great reviews , that i would try ... sometime just feel that LRH reloading section , is a hammer ad --

you can not tell me with a straight face .. this forum ins't used to promote hammers

i don't think the topic itself is a bad thing , its the frequency of it in the reloading section .. it seems some days that, hammer bullets is the ENTIRE purpose of the reloading forum

hammer bullets R&D is not a reloading topic as much as it is about hammer bullet performance , do the absolute hammer and hammer hunter threads belong in the " rifles , bullets , barrels & ballistics" subcategory instead ??

if any new internet traffic wanted to learn about new bullets , i would think they would look in the rifles , bullets , barrels & ballistics but if they wanted to hear recommendations on how far to jump a specific hammer model , that would be reloading related

do you think that our whole reloading group needs to be updated every time someone tries new primer with and absolute , hammer , jacks , shocks , or claw

or could it be categorized a little more efficiently until ......

we only have one reloading channel here, same repeating commercial ...

what ?? that was a question to you , do you korhil78 think that our whole reloading group needs to be updated every time someone tries new primer with and absolute , hammer , jacks , shocks , or claw

i get the scroll and read what you want , ive been doing it for years ... just like all of you have .

in not reaching, as much as all the hammer guys are out numbering my opinion in our forum

and are you asking this to help out reloading forum at LRH or to uphold the hammer image ???

yes , i do a think a specific bullet topic , should in the bullet section

yes , i do believe that the hammer following crowd has flooded this forum to an excess, if you dont wanna call it promotion ,,, whatever ,, it is what is

yes , there is irony in me discussing hammers for 3 days when i came here to talk about reloading and not hammers , but the top of the list that im supposed to just scroll past was about , you guessed it, hammers ... so i talked about my opinion with hammers ...

lets hear your gotcha

Well, I have not heard anything bad about Hammers, so I figure I might be missing out on a good thing. Just ordered 100 to try in my 28N. Those Berger 195s are awesome (just took a shot at 715 yard - if a clay pigeon would have been my bulleye on my gong, I would have it). Bergers are awesome but just a little freaked out by the stories. Only animal I shot with one was a antelope at 150 yards with a 300 gr.

Anyone have any load data for the 177 gr bullet in a 28 Nosler?

Edit: just read the posts about Dusty N: pretty hilarious - I am not trying to stir the pot, but his posts helped make this to the top of the "What's New" section, so I read it, and decided to take the plunge. Thanks DN!

You could be correct...
I'll sit this one out...

@@CMP70306 why dont you go reply in thread , and well finish that conversation there , before you ruin beans thread here

back to the conversation , dont you think it would be an amazing additional to a reloading manual to add minimum expansion fps on the data page ??

is hammer gonna add velocity ranges in their new load data book

that would be awesome !!!
Their upper end weight spectrum of bullets for each of the bigger calibers, seem to mostly reach a velocity/expansion limit range at around 1000-1300 yards. That's out of the larger cartridges for each caliber as well.

The ultra light, ultra fast, peter out at about 700-800 yards.

I do understand the sarcasm also, so don't worry lol. I also don't turn a blind eye to the low BC. I run the numbers and verify my data a lot. I'm happy with an 1100 yard expansion limit with my round. It also, shoots 1/3 minute pretty consistently and I don't have the chase the tune and tweak the load constantly like I did with bergers. I love me some bergers too lol. But I'm happy to give up some bc for the ease and accuracy of the hammers. And their terminal performance. Not that the bergers ever felt inadequate.

1800fps is the minimum for Hammers, it's posted on their website
