Update on this (from the OP, there are multiple people asking questions on this thread). Did some more tests with factory ammo. 160...

I wouldn’t have thought of a firing pin spring issue. Thanks for bringing that up.

sort of what I did with my custom build. I put a piece of tape on the back of virgin brass, screwed the barrel down onto that, then...

There’s 5 thou between a go and no-go guage. I’m not saying it’s out of spec, I’m saying that “spec” is a very broad range of values. If...

Alright, based on what I’m hearing from @Rflshootr and @fseaman , it sounds like the maybe the factory headspaced my chamber on the long...

Keep in mind that it's flattening primers for all factory ammo (nosler, hornady, Pendleton). So I don't think it's a load issue here...

Brass shoulder isn’t moving forward, or at least not more than a thou (my calipers are only so sensitive). Using Peterson brass. The...

All the primers I pop out of 28nos brass look like this. Factory ammo, reloads from the lower end to the top, doesn’t seem to matter...

Good advice here. I’m leaning toward the 8x. Seems like a hunting style preference. I’d be pretty handicapped by a pair of binos I need...

Looked around and was surprised I didn’t see another thread on this topic. What power binos are people using freehand for longer-range...
