25 SHERMAN (THE LATEST LASER)

I think so too with some slow powder and possibly a drop tube. I'd think around 3250-3300 with h-1000 or so. It's got a fair bit more capacity over the sst and the guys with 26" barrels are running over 3300 with some powders. Mine is cruising along well under max psi at 3230 with a 24" barrel.

exactly! Thats why I think the Sherman will max north of 3400'.

I was hoping for 3400 from my wby case I don't think an 06 improved case will get it there. I would be impressed with 3300 from it. I mean really a normal 257 wby only does 3450 with a 120 so going to a smaller case and less capacity and more bullet weight and more twist I don't see 3400 coming from it but maybe with rl-26 it just might squeak it out. We will find out soon enough.

My 25SST will do 3 firings with the 131s over 3300 fps with ADG brass and H-1000 26in Bbl. Rich's case is not a 06 Imp it's a 270win Imp case which is more capacity than my 25SST and with powders like N570 and rl26. I have no doubts max working loads will top out around 3400fps in a 26in Bbl. Rich designed the sherman line of cartridges and he is very humble and honest about the max velocity's his designs will produce. Not only
Does he make it easy by providing the reamers, dies, and brass for his designs from one website to make building easy as possible. I'm not a sponsor for the Sherman line but I'm a fan because he answers the phone when I call the first time and has given me realistic velocity expectations from my 6.5SS and 25SST that I've built. Most don't understand the gains from the case improvements by design such as the reduction of body taper which reduces bolt thrust and pressure by reducing case taper and adjusting the shoulder angle which can increase Bbl life as well. Same concept as the 338 NM IMP producing the same velocity's as the 338 Edge with 8-10gr less powder and a 4" shorter Bbl. Case efficiency and brass quality plays a significant role to max velocity vs overall H20 capacity.

My 6.5 Sherman with a 28" barrel maxes out at 3339 FPS with N570 and a 140 Berger. Not sure what the 25 will do, but it will get the 131 moving right along.

shiney new 25 SHERMAN REAMER is here and ready to rent. Order now or get in line until more reamers are here for sale.

This is really tempting for all the goats we blast every year, plus would make a great mule deer round. If I wasn't in the process of building my wife an elk rifle......

May be next in line though. Have a 14 lb .260 AI for the 156's, a 9 lb .338 NM for back country elk, my wife will have a good 8-8.5 lb 30 cal of some flavor for deer/elk.....I may just need a 9-10 lb 25 Sherman for goats ha ha
