25-06ai or 270ai thoughts?

Looking to build an Ackley Improved rifle. Never had one but want one. Have a long action defiance rebel just sitting and think it would be perfect to build a 25-06ai or 270ai. I won't be shooting any further than 500 yards for these rifles and am looking for thoughts and/or experiences you guys may have. I want to shoot the heavier pills out of these so either the 120's for the .257 or the 150's out of the .270. Your thoughts and opinions are appreciated.

Don't overlook the 131 Blackjack for the 25 cal. But be sure to order a fast twist barrel. 1 in 7.25 should work. I'm in the process of rebarrel my 25-06AI with a fast twist for the 131. Going to try a 25-284 this time.

If getting all the parts up in Canada was easier I'd be up for it. Actually wanted to do a 25SST last build but wasn't prepared to import brass. Still enjoy shooting my 6.5 Sherman though. Fantastic performance out of a 270 parent case.

Its the Sherman LA case based on the 270 that we already have 6.5-375 chamberings in.
It should run a 131 3450-3500'

I would say: 280AI > 25-06AI > 270AI just because of high BC bullet selection but I included the 280ai because of how close it is to 270 caliber and that the 280A.I has factory brass available and the sheer amount of 7mm bullets out there is outstanding.

I like the 280 ai however I have two 7 saums. I'm wanting to build one of the two rifles I mentioned just because I want to. Kind of an itch I want to scratch thing.

25-284 with the 131 Blackjack or a 128gr Hammer.

If it's really just down to the 2506ai vs the 270ai I wouldn't hesitate to go 25-06ai. Those 131gr Blackjack bullets look awesome.
