If you could only have 3 long guns, which would you choose?

Maybe I should pair down my collection. Truthfully, I have my favorites and the others could be framed and hung on a wall. Some are invaluable but for sentimental reasons. I'm not asking for those to be included in the list. But let's say, purely for whimsical gab, that you could only have 3 calibers, any calibers, which would you choose?

Guess if I had to pick 3 it would be the already tried and tested thru the years the 30-30 Winchester or marlin 30-30,the third would be the same! Kinda like it was the gun that tamed the west and protected families and used to hunt game to feed the same families. Did I prove my point? Ut Oh! might have opened a can of worms with the younger groups!

I'd go with a fast twist .223, so I can load up subsonic heavies and essentially have a .22 LR, or load them supersonic and have a decent mid range defense/small game hunting round.

Then I'm thinking a .300WIN/.30nos/RUM/etc. .30 cal magnum with a 1/9 twist. Run 215/230 gr bullets for the biggest of N. American game. Or run lighter rounds for midsized game.

Then I'd have to have a scatter gun. 12 ga. Doesn't matter to me whether it's a pump/semi as long as I have interchangeable chokes.

Or. Go with a Thompson encore, and get whatever barrel suits your needs lol

.257 Roberts
.300 H&H Magnum
.375 H&H Magnum

Killed lots of food with those; if I was paring down the current line-up, the 7mm STW, the .223 and the .35 Whelen would all get adopted by new owners.

I respect your choices, but tell me why the 300 Holland & Holland? Isn't it below the 308 Norma performance-wise? I'm merely curious.

.556 / .260 Rem / .300 WM
But you can ONLY have three "long guns". He didn't say three rifles. I picked a .22 because I might need to eat squirrels and rabbits. The Mossberg 12 gauge, because you can swap from long or short barrels, for different duties. Then the .300 Win Mag, well, because it will kill anything walking the earth, save for few African animals.

22/250, 7mm Rem mag, .375 H&H. They cover anything and everything you would ever want to shoot anywhere in the world
