i have 2: custom simms 7x57 for tree stand hunting in virginia blue ridge; 139 gr hornady sst's, nice gun; cooper .25-.06, shooting 110 gr accubands, for long open field shots,
tack driver; have taken many, many deer with these two; very nice shooters

Since we can hunt deer/elk same season I'll use one of my elk rifles for that tag. Last year I drew separate season buck tag and I used Lilja barrel 270 with 150gr ABLR. I never know till draw result since we have 4 choices on tag and one year I drew 4th choice and first choice cow tag same dates.

I have used a Schultz & larson 7x61 that my dad gave me when I was younger on a pile of deer but now use a remington 700 xcr 270 in a McMillan game scout stock and I'm working on a pre-64 model 70 in 6.5x55 benchmark barrel and McMillan hunter stock.

264WinMag and 140 Bergers at 3300fps does the trick . Also take my 25-06 once and a while . They both hammer deer

Depends on where I'm hunting at the time and the right tool for the job. For beanfields and long range I like my Rem 700 in 300 RUM with a 185 Berger handload, for the woods and northern whitetails I use an old model 70 in 338 WM with a Barnes 225 TTSX handload maybe overkill but never undergunned, my truck gun for all around deer and hogs is a Rem 700 20" tactical with a 168 SMK handload.
