There are different mindsets involved with most everything we do.I wouldn't call it a case (no pun intended) of "diminishing returns"....but you're getting a pretty small velocity boost related to the powder % increase! If efficiency means little.....it's a "hoss"! memtb

But for those who hunt long range and prefer a 30 caliber, and who wait a whole year for the season to come, and maybe then have only a day or 2 with suitable conditions, and now were going to discuss efficiency? EFFICIENCY?
The 308 Win doesn't even belong in this conversation .... waiting for the 30-30 guys to pipe up with the idiotic " the 30-30 has killed more game than blah blah blah "
my usual response to that drivel is "at what range ?"
Yup... there are better lr rounds. The 300 rum comes to mind; the 338 Lapua and it's variants, 338 rum, 300 win isn't too shabby... 7mm stw and 300 roy will work though the roy can be harder to get shooting (been there with a buddy's Accumark). Is there a better long range 30 cal cartridge out there ?
