Short Barrel (20”) 300WSM Question

Update. For my 22" 300 WSM I have moved away from the Hammer bullets as I could not get any better than 1 MOA. I am now shooting the Federal terminal ascent factory bullets. So far good velocity and BC as well as great accuracy for a factory round. My gun also likes the 200 grain factory ELD-X. Getting over 2800 FOS out of both. I would love to hand load the terminal ascent if I could find the bullet heads rather than factory ammo.

Can a 1:9 twist rate shoot the 166gr Hammers efficiently in a 20" inch barrel for 300wsm? I'd like a 300wsm that can fire the 166gr Hammers and also 215gr ammo without buying multiple rifles.

I am wanting this too. I am shooting the 166g in 10 twist but 26"

I am wanting a shorter barrel for suppressor with a faster twist

Thanks

Buck

I would suggest you shoot hammers in your rifle and confirm BC. I would not run ballistics off their published BC and assume you are good to go.

I run a 22" 1/9 Proof CF, shoot 162 Absolute Hammers over H4350 @ 3240. I can speed it up pretty easily but it shot awesome there with 0 pressure so I just left it alone.
