Is there anyone making a lighter weight high end FFP scope? Everything I'm seeing looks to be 30 oz or heavier. I'm building a 338 Edge and am looking for a quality scope under $4k. I have a Nightforce NXS on a 300 RUM which I like, but would like it more if it weighed less...

Depending on magnification your options at or under 28oz are NX8, Leupold Mk 5 and the March, which seems to have a growing popularity.

Burris Veracity then use the rest of the money on another gun, or ammo, or a nice hunt somewhere, or a down payment on a truck.

I just went through a similar search within the last two weeks.

As mentioned already, March scopes seem to be known for lighter weight and high end glass and work within your budget.

A couple I looked at:
Vortex Razor HD AMG comes in @ 28.5oz
Leupold Mark 5 3.6-18x44 at 26oz

The Leupold Mark 4 ER/T FFP 6.5-20x50 maybe worth a look @ only 22oz for anyone with a little less to spend but want lower weight. I've purchased a few of these and really like them.

I finally settled on this:

*specs say 22oz but I don't think that's correct. I think the 34mm tube models are 30oz. I should have the scope by Tuesday.

Haven't seen March. I'm looking at anything 20 plus power. Thanks for all the replies. I'll check out all the scopes mentioned...

What ranges will it be used at and how concerned are you about low light/after legal shooting hours clarity?

I'm telling ya...anything over $2500 is overrated unless you just like to brag at the range. And March have been getting many reports of not holding zero.
