I may of found where all of the primers went

Working on the reference for residential storage of primers/powders et al. IF this guy is a viable seller with a license to sell then awesome (and I will retract my statement for him), but you know as well as I do that a lot of people just buy the primers, store them in the basement and sell them online at auction for twice the price. I tried to call to see if he is a licensed dealer to no avail. Will try tomorrow.

nheninge,
The ad is still listed on gunbroker for another 16 minutes, at which time the auction will be over. If it makes you FEEL any better, the seller got no bids at that price, and will have to probably lower his price and readvertise them.
Let the free market sytem work itself out. It does no good to start making statements about horse whipping , blacklisting business or making statements about illegal activities being conducted when we don't know the facts. Send me a PM and let me know what you are looking for, if I have what you need, I will be more than happy to try and help you out. I don't have much, but would be willing to help a fellow LRH. I see you are from MN, so we are not to far apart.

I've emailed him voicing my opinion. This is the last statement he has sent me.
By some of the earlier emails he has sent me I think I ****ed him off.

"I recieved 1.5 million primers over a 3 week period. That happens because the manufacturers and distributors like me. I have sold over 2.5 million since november at 2.99 and 3.09 a box localy. That is the current local price, I have over 350 pounds of powder for sale localy at 15.99 to 21.99/lb. maybe you should move to Montana"

John_m44,
From the e-mail he sent you, it seems he is only selling locally, and not able to ship. However, I still feel this is a business of somekind for suppliers to be sending him that kind of quantity for resale. Would be interesting to get more imformation.

from what I see so far, the legality may reside with BATF, although I will substantiate tomorrow. It also appears to violate UFC (uniform fire code) for the NFPA. So, if your house burns down (with > 10,000 primers, powder limits exceeded etc), your insurance company likely will not pay for your house and if somebody dies in the fire...god help you

A few months ago I took a look at my storage system here in the house and contacted SAMMI. I ended up splitting my storage up between the 4 different outbuildings. Good thing I had a few inoperational freezers!

When I called SAMMI to order the storage documents, she said they'd send them no charge.:D

I thought Montana passed a law that the Feds have no jurisdiction over these matters if the primers and powder were made and sold for consumption in Montana. Perhaps they are trying to test the will of the Fed and force a USSC ruling.

I am sure a lot of these matters are governed state by state. You just have to be a member of the right cult to get 1.5 million primers in Montana!!! Maybe we should contact the branch davidians in Waco, Tx for a competing price!

This guy runs a legitimate gun/outdoors shop. No need to try and bury him.

First, this is an individual person or business, not the State of Montana

Second,That legislation was passed but it is still going through legal hoops. Montanans have been asked not "test" it yet.

Sorry, I am just impatient. I am looking forward to this going to the USSC. I only hope they can do it before Obama gets his "mainstream" Justice seated.

There are ways to solve problems and there are ways to solve problems.

If any of you over zealous and jealous primer guys jump on the phone and start calling the BATF, etc. Just for your information ... your primers still wont be on the shelf. Why don't you call ATK in Lewiston, Idaho and ask them where they are shipping all the primers. They only make a few million a week.

Call any large wholesaler and ask them how many backorders there are across the US. Attacking some guy on gunbroker will not solve this problem. If you guys would have had an ounce of prevention or preperation, you would have seen that Mr. O would get elected and as Americans have done since the 1700's, we will do anything to protect ourselves and our families. You should have bought primers before Nov. of 08 ... don't blame anybody else. Be responsible for your own actions.

Again ... as gun owners ... it is not your responsibility to take out your frustration on any other red blooded American who has more than you do. America is dying due to its own greed, don't be guilty of the same. I currently work in the firearms industry and understand that there is a little more to the story than what is being said here.

Cool off and THINK!

This is a great site ... but we do not need any attacks on one another at the moment. If the guy had 10 billion primers ... its his right ... for petes sake. This is still America.
This call the BATF and every other agency that we worry about ... just because someone has more primers than I do ... is the same mentality that is sweeping this Nation. This mentality ... You have ... so I want it. I for one ... want no part of socialism.

Please guys ... THINK ... THINK ... THINK!
