bat action tight!

Hey guys, just got my first custom action from wolf precision. It's their "bat tactical action" and it looks great but when I got it home and started cycling it it's a bit difficult to lift and close the bolt. I am wondering if this is normal. It's is melonited/nitrided so I figured at would make it smoother. Maybe I am just being a bit critical but after paying 1600$ for something a man tends to get a bit critical. Has anyone else had this problem?

Do you have a trigger installed? If nothing holds the firing pin, it will seem tight. Install a trigger. All of mine are very slick.

Mine too. Freaky smooth, even without a trigger. Call BAT, they're good people.

I hope you are talking about holding just the action in your hand with no trigger? Mine is direct from BAT, the same action VR-PIC. It is as smooth / slick as it gets. The melonite treated surface is awesome.

Well now that u put it that way I guess it is a stupid question. I dont have a trigger installed. once the bolt is open its soooo smooth. I think I will throw a jewel in thete before I call jamie or bat. Thanks guys

Still seems strange. I have been visiting the BAT website for years.....I can not find a single refernace to a tac action. I just scoured their new website and STILL can't find any referance to a tac action.

Do they build them strictly for Wolf? The action listed on your link is awsome!!!

#7 on the selection list Tactical / hunting the VR & HR series and VR-PIC and HR-PIC long and short actins with integral pic rails. Same as the Wolf they don't make two.

It's a pretty sweet action. Everything looks and feels great, except that sticky bolt lift. I can't wait to get a trigger installed to see if that helps

Take the firing pin assembly out (easy enough to do with bare hands) and try it. With the firing pin removed, it should open close with almost zero effort.

Don't twist it the wrong way or you'll have to figure out how to re-cock it.

YES I tried it and it was SOOOOOOOO SMOOOTH! Does that mean there is something wrong with my firing pin! I wish it felt like that all the time!
