Barrel cooling methods? Chamber Chiller Pro vs The Original Barrel Cooler

Has anyone used the new chamber chiller pro (https://www.chamberchiller.com/USB-...ers/RH-USB-Bolt-Action-308-338?product_id=197) or the original barrel cooler (https://www.area1sports.com/product/complete-barrel-cooler-assembly/)?

I'm trying to decide between one or the other. I like the fact that the chamber chiller pro is powered by USB. I have seen videos though comparing the regular chamber chiller, not the pro, to the original barrel cooler and it doesn't perform nearly as well.

How long does something like this last at the range?

I never had it run dead on me , but I only run it 5 minutes at a time. I do charge it before going out each time.

Yeah I have looked into those matress pumps and am strongly considering one. Much cheaper and much more air flow lol

I mostly use this on my rifles with the big WBY cases.

I've got an old style Chamber Chiller. It's about 2 years old and works great

I made a crude version using a charcoal grill blower and tubing. Worked well but took too long for my liking, especially bull barrels. I went back to the wet towel kept in an ice chest.

In our shop with 85-90F ambient air temp, it will frost over the tube end.

I have the chamber chiller as well. I also have mattress pumps with piece of hose from a hardware store. Have not used chamber chiller since I bought pumps. No comparison. Shooting in AZ 110-110 degree heat use pumps all summer long. Don't go to range without them.

Pvc pipe withe ice cold water from the ice chest is all we use and it works great

I came across this set up. It would take some work, but. CO2 cooling system: Fitting a ball value is all is needed. A 20lb tank is minimum. The hose should be tapered at the chamber end for ease of sliding it into position. The CO2 is released with low flow. It only takes 20-30 sec. to reach ambient temp unless the barrel is quite hot. When I feel the barrel is approaching close to the same temp at the scope, the CO2 is turned off. It will continue to cool from inside out. Many at the range have adopted this system. Need a bore guide for the uses. Run your tubing from the CO2 tank into an un-ported Delrin bore guide for ease of application. This I copied down for the info. I haven't built one yet. I haven' had time to look into it very hard.
