Yes, the new reamer is in and dying to cut a chamber. This baby is throated for action with 175-197 class bullets in the 3000-3100 range.Elkaholic did you get this new reamer you are talking about yet? If so any results yet?
That is right near 28N territory, though not sure if you are talking max or where a node would be. You can get that from a 270 win based case?I have a new reamer for the Sherman coming very soon. I think folks will really like the performance! I am willing to bet that it would run the 195 at 3000'.
One of these days I will have either a 6.5-280AI or 6.5 Sherman.3100 is pushing it hard with a 180 in the one I had but 3000 is easy. That was with a 26" barrel. A 195 Berger will reach at or near 3000' max.
We have people running 140's in the 6.5 at 3300' and 250's in the 338 version over 2800' in the same case.
That .270 Win would make an awesome donor for the .280 Sherman. Also, you use .270 Win brass to form for it. So you're set there, as well, if you have alot of new (or once-fired) .270 Win brass laying around.ok anybody shooting the 280 Sherman what bullets, powder, primers, cases and what they were before forming, and do you know your velocity? I'm thinking about this caliper for a custom gun that is currently a 270win.
