7mm-08 150 eldx and 162 eldx terminal performance

My son used, the 150 gr ELD-X in his 7mm-08 @ 2,800+ FPS ( W/ StaBall ) to kill a 5 X 6, bull Elk at, 247 yards, got good penetration on a "badly" angled shot, so it took, a 2nd one, to Finish him off ( This was NOT, the Bullets Fault ). Bullet clipped the front shoulder Blade going in and was found in the off rear Ham area, AFTER Breaking the Femur bone. Good Penetration and the Bull was "Anchored" but, kicking and trying to get up.
Bullet retained about, a little less than, 1/2 the bullets original weight and mushroomed well !
I will be using, the 143 gr. ELD-X's in my 6.5 Creed for Deer / Antelope.
My 21 y/o Grandson W/ 6.5 PRC, made 3, One shot, DRT Kills with them, on Muley's from, 225 yards to 468 yards !
And,.. they are accurate, in most Rifles !

I know this isn't a Mule Deer or Elk, but maybe helpful?

150gr ELD-X
2671 @ the muzzle
360yrds DRT
2190fps and 1690 ftlbs impact

So far this is my only animal taken with this bullet, but worked really well. I'm running this in my 7-08AI with an 18 inch barrel (1/8 twist). Originally the plan was to use 140 HVLD and 139 SST, but the 150 ELD-X shoots the best and has the best down range performance for this rifle.
They might be little explosive up close, but with 7-08 speeds I don't think you will have a problem?

My sons first elk was shot with the 150 eldx launched at 2890 FPS out of a 7-08.
Bull was 347 yards and the first was text book right thru pump house. The bull would have died moments later but I've always taught him to shoot till there down so he put another one in him 2" away from first shot a that dropped him dead.
I have no pictures of the damage done inside but the bullet worked flawlessly. Found both bullets on the offside hide.
Shortly after that he took his first WT with a 387 yard shot head on with one shot.
I think the 150 eldx is the perfect bullet for the 7-08 and works awesome at the speed which the 7-08 moves them.
