Has anyone used a 270 wsm reamer to change a 6.8 western into a fast twist wsm? results? I bought a 6.8 western to rebarrel to 25 cal or 6mm fat case, high velocity barrel burner. I may mess with the factory barrel if it shoots well as well as maybe using the wsm case instead of the 6.8 case just for the few extra grains of powder. Your thoughts.

Personally, I don't like the idea of re-chambering a factory barrel simply for the reason that you don't know how it was indexed.
Saying that, I have done it through the needs of necessity. I have 3 Rem 700 Sendeo II 7RM barrels I checked and measured prior to re-chambering to 7STW. Results are excellent. I also bought and re-chambered a Win Model 70 Classic Stainless from 375H&H to 375 Weatherby, runout on that one was .003", but the Weatherby chambering cleaned all that up. The Win Model 70 EW has barrels in 257 Weatherby, 270 Weatherby and 338WM (shown).
This is them after being shouldered for switch barrels.

Cheers.
