6.5-7mm prc

I'd like a 40* improved 7PRC, and then a simple .264 neck down from it.
140-195 gr covers a lot.

I like what you are proposing but I'm thinking neck it down to 277 and throat it for the high BC bullets.

I have said since I built my 7PRC that this is a Great Parent Case. 25 would be great also. I have a 264 and love it, now thinking about a 27 and a 30.

Speaking of 277. I just did a 270WSM with .200 Freebore and see below. Showing with Badlands 140 and 150. Total of .200 freebore on it. That 150 is 1.635 long for reference. Hope to shoot it tomorrow or next weekend.

measurement is .044 short of my medium length Hunter mags.
Looks like in your long action more free bore could be used?
I don't know how far off the lands you are seated there in the photo, though.

About to try some 150BD2 myself, in a 7 PRC.

I wanted the chamber to not be too far out as to not have too jump the shorter bullets too far. Hopefully that makes sense.

It looks like you could use the 170Berger for a reamer. Edit maybe not, that mono is long. Hope I'm helping.

I understand , my comment on the lighter bullets was more geared towards the cup/cores and not monos.

To me the .277 necked down from 284/7prc is not worth the squeeze. Bullet weight and barrel length being equal, the 28 cal velocity should offset the 27 cal. BC. Not to mention bullet selection in favor of the 7prc. Now stick that 27 cal in a 300 prc case and you will have something worthwhile. Just my 2 cents.
