33 Nosler testing

Thats fantastic for the 33 Nos case & H4831 combo. That's what I've seen from a 338 Norma/250 Berger and 24" barrel with H1000.
I'm pretty happy with the speeds I'm getting in this round. If I stick with the H4831sc and 250 smk I would think there should be a good load in the 2900 fps range. That might mean I'd have enough capacity for rl 23 and might pick up another 50+fps.

N560 might be worth trying too

Not even close. 26 is great until over 80-85 degrees. 560 is garbage throughout. Even Revic lists rl 26 at .38 fps/degree which mirrors my own testing within .03 fps/degree (until over 80-85 degrees). They list 560 at .97 fps/degree. I think when I tested 560 I was slightly over 1 fps/degree. I'll shoot 26 because I don't hunt or target shoot over 80 degrees anyway.

Oofta... yeah no good if that's the case.

565 is really good on temp but more similar to h1000. You will get similar speeds with 565 and h1000.

Hybrid 100v is about the highest I'll go for change on temp at around .7fps/degree. I've had really good luck with 100v in a lot of cartridges.

Forgive me if i missed this but, did you use a saami spec reamer or did you go for more free bore? Seems the short mag length of the nosler rifles crippled the whole line up. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
I would disagree about the Nosler cases. I went with the 33 Nosler because of the case size, it's perfect for hunting, and its shorter case allows for plenty of room for high bc bullets. How much energy do you need to 1000 yards? A 250 gr .6+ g1 bc bullet going 2900 fps will get it done in any reasonable length hunting scenario.
I once said the 33 Nosler is the 6.5 cm of 33 calibers, change my mind?
It's set up well for heavy for caliber bullets, not super fast but decent ballisticly, with just enough energy for long range. I wanted a 33 caliber that wouldn't kill on both ends, good to intermediate ranges, so am going to shoot a 160 ttsx with H4831sc, maybe try H4350 or RL16 as well, at about 2900-3000 fps, to kept the recoil down. But probably try some 250 grain .6+ g1 bc bullets as well. I got everything but the barrel.
Pic is a 300 wm next to a 33 Nosler case. I don't get why you knock the case when it's perfect for a standard mag LA magazine, with a good shoulder angle, and neck length. Yeah it's not the fastest but it ain't bad.
Ballisticly look at a 27 nosler with a 150 gr SBD2, pretty good, 28 Nosler aint bad. I just can't afford more Nosler cartridges or I'd own them. I might own a 27 nosler if they don't come out with anymore 270 wsm brass.

In a 33 Nosler there is a fellow on here getting 3000 fps with 565 and a 235 HH. That is rolling right along

I ran up to 3136 fps with rl26 and the 225 cutting edge Lazer. I'll have to see how much 565 it holds to the neck shoulder junction just to give myself an idea how it may fare for me.

I belive @100percent is just trying to say the Sammi spec on the nosler line is what crippled factory rifles/ammo with them being 3.340" COAL.

27 Sherman mag with a 160gr trex at 3460fps 😉.

After two more outings I finally reached max pressure in my rig with the 250 SMK and H4831sc. Here it is from the start again. Loaded the 81 grain charge twice on purpose. Now I can fine tune a couple areas and look at accuracy.

75. 2639
76. 2677
77. 2719
Next outing
78. 2773
79. 2834
80. 2895
81. 2905
Next outing
81. 2922
82. 2942
83. 2986 heavy bolt lift and extractor mark
Luckily I only loaded 1 round too many that didn't get shot. At max capacity also. If I try another powder I'll give Hybrid 100v a go.
Right on man that's a sweet setup, pretty cool seeing the 250 smack the crap out of that 976 yard plate the other day!
I have 3 lbs of 565 if you need some for testing.

It is a sight to see the splash from that bigger bullet at those distances! Thanks for the offer on the powder. I think I'm sitting on 15 pounds or so. When I get it dialed in on a load we'll have to get together again and run that and your 300 nmi out to 1500+.
