They're screamers. Had one a few years ago. 80 gr Berger's at a comfy 3550-3600 FPS. I used R25 and N570.

At those velocities how long will the barrel last??
I have a 223 AI that's my go to varmint rifle... 73 gr ELD-M's @ 3015 fps...

If ya got plenty of money for barrels you probably don't care.

Don't know as I didn't own it long enough to find out. Few guys I know have burned them out at around 700 rounds.
I've got two 6 284s 2 25 284s 2 65. 284s one 284 dies to make 30 284 338 284 22 284 I'd build it if I was you

Build it, or I'll swing up from San Antonio and buy the brass off of you.
I got bored with my 6.5-284 when I was able to almost duplicate its velocity in my 6.5 Creed with RL26 and 140 gr bullets. So, I decided to try the 109 gr Absolute Hammer bullet in the 6.5-284. Got it shooting under 0.5 moa at 3511 fps. Can't wait for antelope season to get here now. At 3" high at 100 yards, it's hold on fur to 400 yards.

Did a psi test on the new 25 creed today. There are only 61 rounds on it now, has sped up 20 fps already. I suspect by the time it's broken in, I'll be able to achieve these same speeds with rough 0.4gr less powder. I am having to use the vibratory trick to settle powder above 48gr to keep from heavy compression. I found no bolt lift and very light ejector shadow above 48gr. A 25x284 should be able to run another 5-6 gr of powder.

I've never built anything with the thought of how long in the barrel gonna last, I'm not that conservativeSounds like fun. BUT, when your barrel burns out, I'll play this in advance....
