I'm working on a 30-338 reamer currently, I didn't think about putting it into a 14" pistol barrel also.

Barrel length on the Lapua Improved is 18 inches. That is one of Kirby Allen's painkiller brakes that he uses on his Chey-Tac wildcats

What's the velocity on the 18" 338AX with the 300s? Guessing 2600-2650.

Also would love to see the look on ppls faces if you got a hip holster for that. Then put on a cowboy hat, some spurs, and just walked up to a couple of local shooting ranges with it strapped on your side

FWIW, my 300 RUM with the 245 Berger shoots best at a COAL of 3.745". Ran it up closer to the lands and didn't get the velocity increase and accuracy to justify staying there. Granted this was only with N570 as the current lack of components limited testing. The 3.85" Wyatts is what is in it.

6.5-300 WSM (Leopard) 3020ish with a 130 Berger. More powder and a faster velocity than you would get with the 6.6 PRC

Interesting. My 264WMI is on a Proof barrel. It averages 3350 with 156 EOLs.

It's not all of them. Just a lot of them. I've had a normal proof and I've had a slow one. Both still shot great
