Sorry but I don't take pictures on daily shooting...I need to shoot it again soon anyways and out to distance....so I will try to remember then..no promises ...I thought I had Alzheimer's awhile ago...but I can't remember what it is!Edit: I can supply witness testimony tough...my buddy I did this load for and another friend were here...the fella was having a hard time getting the gun to shoot factory shells....He did the happy dance 250 yards back to house...I did offer him a ride!

And, as a handloader, why would I not want to try the Peak case.
The silly part to me is not wanting to at least try it, while also saying I can already load to 3000+.
If I try it maybe I can load to 3300+, or maybe I don't like the results.

To quite down the rumor mills, Federal should put a postcard in each 20 rd box of 6.5 CM Peak, that a guy can fill out, 1- Bull or Cow Elk, 2- Range in Yards 3- Number of shots required 4- DRT or took a few steps 5- State harvestD . Send those guys that fill out postcards a bag of 50 rounds brass for next season.

To answer the original question. I think the extra pressure brings it up off the bottom area that should be limited to close broadside only shots. This gets the heavy elk worthy bullets up to interesting speeds.
That being said i think legitimate elk (in the do all category) cartridges start at 160 grain premium bullets at 2900 plus and preferred 180gr + premium bullets at 3000+ .
How that weight bullet gets to those speeds is a personal preferance.

It always was with Good shot placement and a Bonded or Mono bullet
