CO elk hammered 6.5 Creedmoor

So second season elk. I made this load for a friend and he shot this bull elk at 608 yards with a 123gr absolute out of his Pierce engineering 6.5 creedmore.
Bullet leave right around 3160fps.
Bull stood still for a few seconds after hit and fell right over. Everything inside was mush and hole in hole out. Not bad for that distance and the bullet still worked great.

So I've had great luck with rl15 in mine and varget in this one and my dads. Pm me and I can give you my load data if you like.

I'd say that 600 is about max for elk with the creedmore. Most bullets hit the min velocity at that point. Good to know the 123 works as promised at that 1800fps min speed recommendation. Would have liked to have seen the shank but can't complain about a full pad through.

Best part is the guide was so against creedmore a for elk we purposely brought them. He did at least say nothing g wrong with it it's the owners who don't practice and shoot target ammo that are the problem.
