Super cartridge. You will enjoy it! There are a few facebook groups that get a lot of activity and have lots of information. Recommend checking those out. Brass is only availble from Winchester currently and drops infrequently. Not just 6.8W but any Win brass is infrequent They keep claiming can't keep up with loaded ammo demand. Good news is 6.8W ADG brass is supposed to come on line later this year which will be awesome.

I'm reloading Winchester component brass and nickel plated factory ammo hulls, it all shoots well enough.

ADG is allegedly running 6.8 Western later this year. If you can't wait that long, just resize 7 SAUM brass and carry on as normal.

PM me if you want load data, I've done work ups for a few bullets and powders.

With that cartridge when you find it I'd buy a barrels worth and then another pack or two.

Not that it's a bad cartridge, but I'm concerned the market buying it isn't going to push manufacturers hard enough to have a huge component supply
I agree with you. Hopefully the cartridge will catch on. It started like this with my 6.5 CM and of course many wildcat calibers etc. Thanks for your input

It is actually very old. .270 caliber commercially loaded came out close to a 100 years ago.

I agree and will be doing that. The factory loads I am buying are not typical brass. I think they are all nickel. I have only reloaded brass cartridges
Be ABSOLUTELTY SURE to clear all nickel shavings off of the case after chamfering and deburring or you'll ruin your sizing die with nickel shrapnel and scratch up all of your case necks. Ask me how I know.

Best procedure I came up with is to chamfer/deburr then hit the case with an air gun inside and out to remove the shards left over. Size/deprime, prime, and load normally afterwards.

I've got a large pile of new factory Winchester 6.8 western brass if you need 50 rounds
