Did Wipeout Products Ruin My Barrel?

Aside from not using the product correctly. "WIPE-OUT ACCELERATOR™ is not meant to be used by itself as a cleaner but is a catalyst that enhances the action of WIPE-OUT™."

Kinda need to see pics of the barrel before using Wipeout Accelerator, without that those pics prove nothing.

The electrical current is generated by the chemical reaction between copper & iron in stainless with the super bore accelerator cleaning stuff acing as a conductive medium - sort of like a bore battery. Don't need an outlet, wires, or plug.

The iron gets eaten.
I'm thinking this is it. The accelerator was bumbling & foaming out the breach.

Was that just a patch of accelerator that did that? How long did it take before that happened?

I use the accelerator all the time followed fairly quickly by the foam or patches of wipeout and I've never see the accelerator do anything like that.

I leave all of my removed barrels with my smith to use for making brakes or whatever. But I'm sure many of you guys have some old, useless take-off barrels. Why don't a couple of you guys try to repeat what Gingerman did and see what you get? I'm sure everyone here would be interested in the results. Don't forget to take some pictures BEFORE you get started.

Now that he's shown what it looked like before does that meet your approval standards or doe he need to provide more evidence to suit you ?

I'm on the road and therefore haven't read all of the posts but for all the naysayers if you'll do a quick search you will find that this has been a problem with patch out products for years along with rust issues.
if it works for ya stick with it but I have never used it and after seeing this post I won't ever, thanks for the heads up

I always just used a soak patch of accelerator followed by the foam too. This time I filled the bore with accelerator using a muzzle plug. 45 min sit.

LoL! Which metal is the anode and which is the cathode.

C, Mn, P, S, Si, Cr.

I see accelerator patches that contain foam very often. This occurs when I use a chamber brush with patch out in the chamber area before patching accelerator through the bore. I assume it's the reaction from the patch out. This is what accelerator is intended to do

No, that helps. The fact that the product was used improperly, yet for some reason the manufacturer is to blame is perplexing....

What part of "won't harm barrel steel" do you not understand?

When the wipeout owner says the barrel looks fine, you think it does too?

When the Wipeout owner says the 45 min sit of accelerator wouldn't hurt the barrel steel, what do you say?

When I caught the owner in a lie when he said that I'm the only one to have this happen.

Ok
