Only 1 Rifle selection?

I built my Sherman 7mm Max to be my do everything North American, long range rifle……it has exceeded my expectations and is super efficient. 63.0 gr of RL-23 pushes my 180 gr Berger at 3,025 ft/sec. Great ADG brass too. Lots of long range kills, including the pictures elk at 680 yrds.

..a standard ole' fashion ho-hum plain Jane .300 win mag will serve you well on any North America game as far or close as you'd care to shoot....easy to work with, time tested and hunter approved, as many bullets, styles and weights as any caliber, when brass for it becomes hard to find all the other promotional gimmick cartridges will be long dead and in the trash can...hard to beat no matter what anyone says.

I agree 100 % so much so that I gave one of the two I purchased originally to my son in law and bought two more for myself. Velocity is outstanding and brass seems to last forever.
 
Looking for something new? --go 6.8 Western--short action "mag" cartridge, shoots up to 175 gr bullet w .625 BC, great 1000 yd rifle and hits with same energy at 500 yds as 300 WM. Of course, you are never wrong with a plain jane old 30-06...plenty of jack for most anything, anywhere in the world and you can buy ammo at a gas station in Zimbabwe...
 
Any of the medium to larger 7's or 30's will fit the bill. I have a 7LRM that I just love. Almost impossible for me to leave home without it! I wouldn't recommend that caliber to you but only because brass is a pain in the *** to get and from what I've heard on a Gunwerks podcast Gunwerks is probably going to stop chambering rifles in it. Since it's their cartridge it might make things even harder in the future to procure. It has knocked elk right off their feet and taken any and all critters I have shot it at from 50 to 850 yards with 180's. Performance wise its right around the 7mag realm, maybe just a little more. The 7mm PRC looks pretty good as well and should be readily available in most places very soon. I have not had the privileged of shooting one yet but my buddy just picked one up and we will be shooting it very soon. Only time will tell if it makes the cut but from what I hear its a pretty cool round. I do not have a Sherman but would love to someday, I have only heard good things but have never even seen anyone around here that has one so I can't give any advice on that. I do have a 300 Win and a 300PRC as well and I love them. I am shooting 199 grain Hammer Hunters in the PRC, right around 3100 FPS, and its just seems to kill on contact so far. I shoot 181grain Hammers in the 300 Win Mag but have not taken any game with it yet. The choices are endless in today's market. My suggestion would be get something that is readily available in your area so you can always shoot it! Nothing worse than having a rifle you cant get components for or ammo to shoot. I can't agree more with your 7LRM as being your favorite. I had one once and regret selling it, but I was younger and dumber. Lol. Thought about building another, but seems like Hornady has put a stake through that heart and Gunwerks is ready to bury it.
 
280AI gets my vote. I'm new to the round, but I'm absolutely loving it so far! Lots of bullet options, very manageable recoil, easy to find loads for in a quality rifle, and can load light and fast or heavier and still have great speed. Overall its probably my favorite overall rifle at the moment!
Lots of great options here!
