I’m Making The Switch

Sounds like a good time to unload my Savage 110 with smokeless ml barrel!

I will say my bedded savages shoot like customs though, I suspect if a gunsmith worked over the pinnacle of the cocking ramp that might help to.

I can tell a difference in the 3 that I did but I also bushed and turned down the firing pin. A different bolt handle can make a huge difference as well. Give his a call and discuss the options with him.
 
Switched a few times myself or rather added.
Ruger was my first choice as they are tuff and reliable. Back then Remingtons didnt fit me well and Winchester bolts just didnt hunt for me.
Savage apealed to my tinkering affliction and they still are my prefered high volume varmint rigs but lack the tuff reliability for hunting. For those that say Savages shoot great .........well? None of the fifteen I've owned shot worth a hoot out of the box but with a little fiddling they do alright.
Then the little CZ527 made an apearance and while the action is not the smoothest out of the box the trigger is great. The 223 and 6.5Grendel have become my goto coyote rigs
For big game hunting the Tikka gets the call. The T3lite and atralite actions are smooth and triggers break great. 6.5Sweede, 30-06 and 338 gett-r-done when called upon!
The latest switch is to ARs. The 223 always seamed a little lacking to me but the 300blackout, 6.5 Grendel and 450Bushmaster add a whole new demention to the AR!
Change is not a bad thing as i can alway back up 😎
 
If it even crossed my mind-I'd already have a bus charted, a route planned to pick up as many friends as possible on the way to Indiana for an intervention.

I had a tough enough time explaining to my grandson why someone desecrated his avatar with a man bun.

I can't imagine having to explain more.

As for the OP's statement for a 25 caliber.
Which action did you get?

I have a 250 Savage 24" on an AxisII action (the barrel was on my Stevens 200) , and a 257 Roberts AI on a 111 action.

I have built a pile of rifles using savage. They all shot well and never gave me any issues. I have ptg truing reamers, bolt face cutters, and learned a few tricks regarding bolt set up to reduce cocking lifting etc. The only action I've switched to that is savage like is a bighorn. Floating and interchangeable heads, savage threads, smooth as butter. Good on you.
