Any bullet other than Nosler

ELDX Per Hornday:

DEVASTATING CONVENTIONAL RANGE PERFORMANCE

With high velocity 0-400 yard impact, the bullet continually expands throughout its penetration path. The thick shank of the jacket and high InterLock® ring keep the core and jacket together providing 50-60% weight retention.

So "bonded" is incorrect word but maybe "interlocked" is more appropriate.

I hear a lot about ELDX not being "tough enough" but the picture below is the bonded base of a 162ELDX that was recovered at the tail of the last Antelope I shot at 194 yards - 162 ELDX from 280AI entered center of chest with initial fragmentation destroying hearts, lungs, etc. and this bonded base drove the length of the antelope and was recovered under the hide at the rear. Same rifle, same 162 ELDX harvested a mature mule deer buck with a "Texas Heart Shot" at 350 yards and the 162 ELDX performed similarly driving from rear all the way to the front - recovered against the front hide.

Bonded base? Eldx is not a bonded bullet. Cup and core. You tickle that lead with a knife tip and it will likely fall right out. They still kill deer and Antelope just fine.

Have you ever shot anything inside of 30 or even 50 yards? My very limited experience with the 143 ELDX in a 6.5 Creedmore suggests that with close range use ……they are "extremely" fragile! memtb

I sent an email to Nosler saying that since you left us hunters high and dry on Accubond bullets I have switched to other bullet manufactures.
If enough of us send that type of email maybe they will get the message.
I did get a reply with ad's about Nosler loaded ammo at different places and them saying "we found over 30 boxes of ammo ready to purchase" and I replied you are talking to a reloader and I custom make my own loads to fit my rife.No reply.
Tell Nosler how you feel!
Tell them your not paying 65.00 or higher for a box of ammo

I sent them an email asking for the complaint compartment as Nosler left 26 Nosler abandoned. Got response that they were having QC issues producing 26 Nosler brass. That was comforting.

This is the Long Range Hunting forum so figured 30 to 50 yard engagements would be in the pistol forum! (Just kidding). One large mule deer harvested at 75 yards with one 162 ELDX nothing closer. I will admit that most of the "ELDX bad" comments are around the 143ELDX weight and 6.5 CM.

The last time I contacted Hornady about the Interbond they said it was a popular bullet but hard to make as it had to go through the line multiple times but they were working on a replacement bullet.
I bet the CX bullet is the replacement.I haven't tried it yet but others that have tried it say it's an accurate bullet but they have not taken any animals with it yet.

Yep Hydra6 it's hard to feel sorrow for Nosler for the Nosler 26 debacle
