300 Norma Magnum Improved reamer and die release

Question please: is the idea of a .300 Norma Mag Improved in only a 22" barrel nonsensical? Do I need 24-28" for the improved version (with more powder/case capacity) to make sense? I have a Husky HVA in .30-06 that I'm having rebarreled and opened up to feed .300 Norma Mag and I'm wondering if I should just go the improved route while I'm at it, but my barrel is only 22" long. TIA

You'll want to get a proper Lapua sized action for a 300 NM with
1 1/8" action threads and a .750 bolt.
I'm actually building one with a 20" barrel

Alex;

Anything you would do different on this reamer if it were a dedicated ELR rifle (plan is to shoot 245 Bergers / maybe test the 250 A-tips). Maybe a little more free-bore? I shoot out to 2900 yards in light rifle ELR.

1 in 8 twist?

I have no problem tuning necks / tighter neck? .336?
